Castries, Saint Lucia – In a shocking incident that has left the community of Industry, Choiseul, reeling, two men have been formally charged following a violent assault on a local family. The accused, Vaughn Mark of Victoria, Choiseul, and Kendal Sansion of Sapphire Estate, Laborie, each face four counts of attempted murder related to the brutal attack that occurred on the evening of February 14, 2025. Both suspects were apprehended on February 15 and have since been remanded into custody.
The victims, members of the Labadie family, include 54-year-old Endie, her 62-year-old husband Vernon, their 18-year-old daughter Vernancia, and their 5-year-old grandson Bradley. All four sustained severe injuries from the assault and were urgently transported to St. Jude Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, on February 21, Vernon Labadie succumbed to his injuries, intensifying the community’s grief and prompting authorities to consider upgrading the charges against the suspects to murder.
